bisso jakhon nidra magon - When the World Sleeps

When the world sleeps and the sky’s dark

Who so passionately strikes the string of my harp?

Sleep broken, I leave my bed

I open my eyes but all is fled.

I sing, I hum, my heart is filled

With the long song of a lovelorn soul

In painful yearn and with tear-laden mind

Round his neck I place this garland of mine.
