Oh, the Lord of the dark

In the nadir of darkness drown my gloom.

Oh, come the profound at the edges of life – oh come the intense,

Swoop down upon my senses.

Let this body and soul dissolve, let them be gone

Oh, the Lord of the dark.

My desire, my imperfection, my stream of thoughts

At your feet let them stop.

Exiled – and chained by desire

Oh, the Lord of the dark,

I wish to be fastened

To you instead.

My dearest, my best, oh my closest

Oh, the Lord of the dark

Let shunning all, fulfilling all, let the severest come

Oh, let the ego die a sweet death.
